Overview
When you purchase the same ASIN again, you can use an existing SKU or create a new one. The choice affects traceability, purchase prices and Repricing.
Use an existing SKU
This is suitable when:
Condition, fulfillment method and marketplace remain identical.
You intentionally want to combine all quantities under one Listing.
Your Repricer should work with one shared SKU.
Several purchases can have different purchase prices. Exports and reports may combine them depending on the function. Check which value will be used before exporting.
Create a new SKU
This is suitable when:
Purchase prices must remain separate.
You want different Repricing rules.
Condition, FBA, FBM or target marketplace differs.
You want to analyze batches or purchase dates separately.
Step by step
Decide whether simple inventory consolidation or precise purchase separation matters more.
Check that the existing SKU is active and suitable for the marketplace.
Select the existing SKU during purchase entry or let A1 create a new SKU using your saved structure.
Check CoG, Min Price, Max Price and Repricing rule afterwards.
Common issues
The Repricer shows an unexpected purchase price: Check whether several purchases use the same SKU.
I need FBA and FBM at the same time: Use separate SKUs so fulfillment and calculation remain clear.
